Entry level first aid training course that includes NZQA unit standards 6401 and 6402.

Description

This course offers the opportunity to learn first aid skills and to further develop existing skills in order that they can take a first responder role and provide basic first aid treatment until more advanced help arrives at the scene.  The course also includes the phase of emergency care that either; prevents respiratory or circulatory airway obstruction; or supports the breathing and circulation of a victim with cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). This is an interactive first aid course with a substantial part of the training based on practical scenarios, with real life situations and the correct actions.

KEY SUBJECT AREAS INCLUDE:

Scene management, Adult, child and infant CPR, Airway obstruction, Bleeding control, Recovery position, Assessment of first aid conditions, Chocking, Shock management, Fractures, sprains, burns, poisoning.
