Basic Food Safety

Level 2 | 1 day | $120 incl GST

Essential training for anyone working with food eg. Community groups, volunteering in a kitchen or on the Marae. This workshop meets the compulsory training requirements needed.

Essential training for all food handlers under the Food Act 2014 – from market stalls, cafes and restaurants to senior living and child care centers. This is a very practical look at the food handler and their responsibilities under the Act.

In this course you will learn how to:
•Understand the food safety measures as required by the Food Act 2014
•Know correct and safe food practices and control methods used in the industry
•Learn to identify contamination hazards in a food business
•Learn methods used to control hazards that cause food-borne illness and food spoilage
•Learn methods to maintain effective personal hygiene and correct practices when working with food

Learn the different parts of the espresso setup (grinder, machine, dump box, water filter). Barista 101

Two days of practical learning – with plenty of hands-on experience on the espresso machines, making coffees. Learn about the history and production of coffee, understand more about the beans used to make great coffee.
